Vineyard: The fruit was sourced from the Haynes Street Vineyard in nearby Jordan. Located in the Creek Shores sub-appellation, the gravelly loam in this vineyard promotes deep roots on these decades old vines. This low vigour site produces bold, complex red fruit, perfectly suited for ageable wines.
Vintage: The 2023 vintage was a tale of two seasons. The summer was relatively wet and cool while the fall was filled with warm, sunny, and dry days with cool nights. These near perfect ripening conditions allowed us to pick vibrant ripe fruit with nice balanced acidity.
Vinification: 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Machine Harvested, Wild yeast ferment and natural malolactic conversion. Aged 20 months in French Oak barrels (25% new).
Wine: Appearance is that of a shiny red ruby. Aromas of dark fruit, leather, vanilla, and spice. On the palate, juicy with an integrated mouthfeel, soft tannins carried on gentle acidity. Perfect to enjoy on its own ... even better with grilled meats, tomato-based pasta dishes, and aged cheeses.
