Vineyard: The fruit was sourced from the Haynes Street Vineyard in nearby Jordan. Located in the Creek Shores sub-appellation, the gravelly loam in this vineyard promotes deep roots on these decades old vines. This low vigour site produces bold, complex red fruit, perfectly suited for ageable wines.
Vintage: The 2024 vintage got off to an early start resulting in one of the longest growing seasons on record. The summer was a mix of warm and rainy days followed by a wonderful harvest season. These conditions helped to produce crisp and vibrant whites while the reds were rich, bold, and complex.
Vinification: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Cabernet Franc. Machine Harvested, Wild yeast ferment and natural malolactic conversion. Aged 15 months in French Oak barrels (25% new).
Wine: Appearance is ruby garnet. Enticing aromas of dark fruit, leather, chocolate, and spice. On the palate, smooth with an integrated mouthfeel, soft tannins carried on gentle acidity. Perfect to enjoy on its own ... even better with grilled meats, tomato-based pasta dishes, and aged cheeses. Enjoy now or hold for a few years for further development and maturation.
